In a groundbreaking first interview with Arabian Business, Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya, the once-anonymous leaders of Shiba Inu (SHIB), the world’s largest decentralized community, shared insights into their journey and vision. Meeting at 3 a.m. in a café, both remained fully concealed, emphasizing their desire for privacy.


Kusama and Dhairya’s backgrounds are humble, having worked as an Uber driver in Los Angeles and a food delivery courier in New York, respectively. Now, they are at the helm of the second most-traded cryptocurrency in 2023, surpassed only by Bitcoin.


Under Kusama’s leadership, Shiba Inu has experienced significant fluctuations in valuation, ranging from $10 billion to $41 billion. Their ambitious goal is to make Shiba Inu the world’s first trillion-dollar decentralized entity. Kusama believes that memes will be the gateway to bringing more people into the world of crypto and blockchain, with Shiba Inu leading the transition from Web2 to Web3.


Kusama revealed that by the end of 2024, they plan to hand over control to the community, stepping back to let committees of people take the lead. They discussed the original vision of Ryoshi, who aimed to create five tokens (SHIB, BONE, LEASH, TREAT, SHI) and various technologies, intending to surpass Dogecoin.


Kusama and Dhairya emphasized the importance of memes in their strategy, with Dhairya stating that SHIB is all about creating memes and empowering people to amplify their messages. Despite being seen as just a meme coin, Kusama highlighted their structured approach, allowing them to do business globally. He noted that Shiba Inu's future does not rely on any single individual, ensuring its resilience and continuity.
